Enter your art into the exhibition now and deliver them on intake day!
Members and non-members are invited to enter up to 2 pieces of art depicting human figures for our “Figuratively Speaking” Exhibit. We are broadening the definition of “figure” to include portraits, figures in the landscape, drawings or paintings of figures or abstract representations of the human form as interpreted by the artist. All media are acceptable per the Artists Guidelines and Accepted Works. Prizes for first, second and third will be awarded as chosen by judge Peter Danko who holds a Bachelor of Fine Art and art history from the University of Maryland. Peter has a passion for figure drawing and painting and has been represented in many regional galleries.
The exhibit will run from July 24, 2022 through August 28th. We are offering online pre-registration with payment to reserve your spot in the exhibit and to streamline the intake process. We will be accepting online registrations starting 8:00am June 1 through July 13th @ 2:00pm the day prior to intake. Please note that the stated number of slots available for preregistration indicates the number of artists, not art works. This number may change as people register for only one piece. Slots for at least 15 artists, or up to 30 pieces will be reserved for walk-ins (artwork entries left over from online registration will also be available for walk-ins). Walk-ins will be processed in the same manner as previous exhibits. All artists need to hand deliver their pieces on July 14th from 2-6pm. Up to a total of 100 pieces will be accepted. Other delivery times on July 15 can be arranged by calling the office for an appointment.
The opening reception will be free and open to the public on Sunday, July 24th from 2pm-4 pm.
Pick up of unsold art will be Sunday, August 28th from 4-4:30pm and August 29th from 10am-2:30pm. We cannot store art and our insurance only covers the work until the end of pick up time. If you are unable to pick up your art on pick up days, please have an associate retrieve your pieces for you during these designated times.
