How many colors do you actually need to create an engaging painting?
In this workshop we will explore creating an entire painting using a triad….just 3 colors. We will explore several different combinations of colors and mix them to create a stunning variety of colors. After we finish painting, I will show you how to display your artwork without using mats and glass.
*A basic knowledge of watercolors is suggested for this workshop. If you are new to watercolors, please contact the instructor prior to registering.

Paper:
I prefer Fabriano 140 or 300 lb cold press. Use your favorite brand of paper as long as it is not student grade paper. Good quality in paper, paint and brushes are the secret to good watercolors.
You will need at least one full sheet cut into quarter sheets. Do not work smaller. You will also need some scrap pieces of watercolor paper to practice.
Brushes:
Use whatever you are most comfortable using. We all have favorite brushes. But use the largest brush you are comfortable using.
A large brush to wet your paper. A 1 ½- 2” flat brush. You can find them in hardware stores.
I large mop. I use a #20 Silver Black Velvet
Round synthetic or kolinsky. I like Rosemary&Co #10 and 14 Series 344 but use your favorite as long as it has a nice point.
Eradicator or scrubber brush
