    American Mosaic (January 18 - March 1)

    DESCRIPTION:

Our country celebrates its 250th anniversary this year!  In honor of our great nation, we are holding an exhibition showcasing works of art that demonstrate the origins, diversity, music, food, and cultures that make us America!

    THE CALL:

Members and non-members are invited to create a visual representation, abstract or otherwise, of your view of the USA.  Go beyond baseball, hot dogs, and apple pie (but those images are certainly welcome)!  Let your imagination wander as you ponder what it means to live in America! Each artist is invited to enter UP TO 3 pieces of art!

    Special guidelines for this exhibition:

** To reflect the number of our original colonies, works are to be limited to 13 inches X 13 inches on the longest edge, including the frame.

** Please price your works $250 and under (for 1 dollar or less for each of the 250 years).

** Please review and follow the remaining guidelines listed at:

YAA ARTIST TERMS AND CONDITIONS to qualify for admission into the

    display.

*This exhibition is limited to 130 submissions.

Pre-registration is required for this exhibition. To enter, first read the prospectus, click on REGISTER, follow the prompts on the screen to sign in, and enter your artwork information. You must "check out" and register and pay for each piece separately. Unpaid registrations are voided after 15 minutes.

    ***Selection of work:

Freedom of speech is crucial for our communities and nation.  The pieces of work displayed in our galleries may amaze, enlighten, challenge, and sometimes upset individuals.  To exhibit a work of art is not to endorse the work or the vision, ideas, and opinions of the artist.  It is to uphold the right to all to experience diverse visions and views.  When controversies arise, we encourage open discussions, believing they are essential to the art experience.

Work may be removed if deemed derogatory, hate speech, discriminatory, or pornographic.  YAA does and will always have the right to remove any piece of work from its walls.  Decisions regarding the removal of artwork are at the discretion of the Executive Committee.

AWARDS: Three artists will receive awards: First Place – $200, Second Place – $150, and Third Place – $100.
