This six-week course will focus on establishing a solid understanding of basic watercolor concepts and terminology with the beginner in mind, but all levels are welcome!! Each week we will explore various topics and techniques to develop skill and confidence in new painters in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Instruction will include demonstrations and photo reference of a variety of weekly subjects. Experienced students are welcome to work on personal watercolor projects if they prefer.

Watercolor Paint: I recommend this set of paints because Daniel Smith Watercolors are American made professional quality paint, pan sets are conveniently portable for class, and this set comes with extra space for additional colors. Great option if you buy some special colors of your choosing in the future. Micheals and many other art stores carry them.
*Arches watercolor pad (or block), Cold Press 9”x12”
Watercolor brushes - This inexpensive set has a lot of brush sizes and shapes.
*Paper towels
*Water cup
*Pencil, ball point pen, masking tape, kneaded eraser (&/or white plastic eraser)
*Ridged backing board for taping down paper
