Adult Workshop
Our focus will be on creating different textural effects with shading. Soft cloth used as drapery and objects on hand will provide textural surfaces to observe. We’ll work with different mark making techniques such as stippling, hatching, cross hatching, and imprinting using impressions. Directional contour marks will be made to create value and form. Each method will be demonstrated and then a drawing will be made to try out the technique.
Actual objects will be provided as subjects, no photographs.
Supplies:
Drawing pencils (such as 2B, 4B, 6B)
a thin nib black permanent marker,
white eraser
a drawing pad or drawing paper
