We are kicking off our 2023 gallery season with our first exhibit featuring art works done on paper which will run from January 22 through March 5, 2023

ONLINE PRE-REGISTRATION will begin November 30, 2022, at 8:00am and close at 2:00pm January 9, 2023, one week before intake. WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING WALK-INS! ALL ENTRIES MUST BE REGISTERED BY JANUARY 9 at 2 PM. If you are unable to register online, please call the office at 717-755-0028 to pre-register over the phone.

Description and Requirements:
Members and non-members are invited to enter up to 2 pieces of art created on yupo paper, watercolor paper, pastel paper, sketching paper or other paper supports! Cardboard, art board, panels and other firm surfaces are NOT appropriate substrates for this exhibit. Artistic mediums such as (but not limited to) oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, pen, ink, graphite, colored pencil, and mixed media are acceptable. Woodcut or linographic relief prints on paper and photographic images taken by the artist must be printed on a paper support (not canvas). Works done on paper may be affixed to canvas for display purposes (e.g., a mixed media piece done on paper can be "glued" to a canvas for purposes of display) or placed in a frame with or without a matte, wired with gallery quality wire and professionally finished. As always, we are not accepting print reproductions of original works.

Please refer to our Accepted Works and Artist Guidelines and Exhibition Contract for more information on YAA entry standards and practices.

Awards: First Place $ 200  Second Place $ 150  Third Place $ 100

Juror: Fred Haag, professor of art at Penn Sate York, will be our judge. He holds an MFA from Penn State and shows his work nationally and regionally. He has taught multiple classes at Penn State and several  workshops.

NEW Registration Process:
All artists must pre-register online (or by phone) during the registration period to participate. YAA is no longer accepting walk-in registrations. Online registration will close one week prior to intake day to ensure that we can meet our one week turnaround schedule and run a smooth intake. Once the registration is closed, late requests will not be accepted. All registrations are non-refundable and additional registrations, beyond the two piece limit, per artist, will not be accepted and fees collected will be considered generous donations.

To participate: Artists will register ONE piece at a time. Those who wish to enter a second piece, will register it separately, with a separate transaction fee. Once you've completed your first registration, click "REGISTER" again to enter your second piece, and complete the transaction. Or, you may enter one piece now and enter a second piece later as long as it is before the deadline for registration.

NEW Intake Procedures:
Intake will be Monday, January 16 from 2-6pm. Due to the condensed time frame and exhibit turnaround, we absolutely cannot accommodate early drop offs, no matter the circumstances. Please ask a friend to submit your work.
As always, work must be hand delivered as we are not equipped to accept shipped Art.

TAGS: Your tags will be ready for you upon arrival on intake day with all of your registration information. Artists are asked to take special care when entering their registration information online, as it will be used to create your individual intake tags. Such details as spelling and capitalization are important for us to tag and correctly identify your works for the exhibition.

The opening reception will be free and open to the public on Sunday, January 22th from 2pm-4 pm. Awards of first, second and third place will be announced between 2:30 and 3:00.

Pick up of unsold art will be Sunday, March 5 no earlier than 4-4:30pm and March 6 from 10am-2:00pmFor future exhibits, we plan to have intake occur the day after the end of an exhibit.  If you are entering work in the next exhibit you may pick up your piece when you come in to drop off your piece during intake from 2-6pm. If you are unable to pick up your art on pick up days, please have an associate retrieve your pieces for you during these designated times.  NOTE:  WE CANNOT STORE UNSOLD ART BEYOND THESE PICK UP TIMES! We will not be responsible for any damage or loss to art left behind after these dates.
