IMPRESSIONIST LANDSCAPES IN COLD WAX with Linda Benton McCloskey
3/28 & 3/29 9:30-4pm | Beg-Int | $200 MEM / $225 NON-MEM 

Immerse yourself in the world of cold wax and oil painting with this workshop, where you'll gain a comprehensive understanding of this unique medium. Focused on cultivating an impressionistic style, we'll create captivating landscapes and explore the nuances of color harmony. Tailored for those at the beginner to intermediate levels, the workshop features informative demonstrations, personalized assistance, and constructive critiques.

Feel free to bring your questions to the forefront; curiosity is not just encouraged but warmly welcomed. To ensure a smooth experience, bring all required supplies on the first day, along with several landscape photos. Time permitting, we may also touch on the fascinating realm of abstract painting, adding an extra layer of artistic exploration to this enriching workshop.

SUPPLY LIST:
1 pint of cold wax (Gamblin or Dorlands)
Oil paint - Gamblin 1980 recommended in green, red, blue, yellow, orange, purple, 2 tubes of white, and 1 tube of black
Bowl scraper - Zole + Chloe
Multi-Purpose Silicone Scraper
Gamblin odorless solvent (put in a spray bottle)
Palette knife
Supports: Arches OIL paper, Multimedia Artboard, cradled wooden panels, canvas, or panels made for oil (all gesso'd prior to class)
Paper towels
Reynolds FREEZER paper
Wax paper
Plastic wrap
Masking tape
A couple of cheap or old brushes SOFT brayer
Old apron or clothes
Tablecloth to cover the floor at your working station

Optional items:
Marking tools (pencils, markers, etc.) Collage items, Newspapers Things to push into the paint for texture, Color shaper, Plastic gloves Stamps
